We are holding a pointe placement class because beginning and
progressing en pointe is a major milestone — and one that deserves
thoughtful, individualized attention. Every dancer develops at a
different pace, and this evaluation allows us to truly see where each
student is physically, technically, and artistically before placing them
in a class.
The purpose of this placement is not to limit students, but to support
them. Pointe work requires strength, alignment, stability, and maturity.
By assessing these elements carefully, we can ensure each dancer is
placed in a curriculum that matches their current needs and sets them up
for long-term success.
Our goal is simple: to give every pointe student the training
environment that will help them build confidence, develop proper
technique, and remain healthy and injury-free. This placement class
allows us to be intentional, proactive, and supportive as we guide each
dancer along their unique pointe journey.
Elevation’s Pointe Evaluation is carefully designed to assess a dancer’s readiness for pointe work through a series of strength tests, alignment checks, and technique demonstrations. Our goal is to ensure that students are not only safe but also set up for long-term success in their pointe journey.
Pointe work requires exceptional strength, discipline, and dedication. This evaluation is an important step in supporting our dancers as they progress safely and confidently.
The Pointe Prep & Evaluation Summer Training Series will focus intensively on building the technique, strength, and alignment necessary for pointe work and overall improvement in ballet. It is an excellent opportunity for dancers to prepare for the formal evaluation and to grow in their training.
Students will receive a Pointe Agreement for the 2026-2027 season, due signed by TBA (first day of class).
New students will be placed in Pointe 1, beginning TBA , and must be professionally fitted for pointe shoes and ready to dance by TBA.
