COSTUMES

We spend many hours selecting the right costumes for each class. They are always age-appropriate and of the highest quality possible. Costumes include accessories, but if not all dancers have accessories by the time the performance rolls around, the class will not wear the accessories on stage. One pair of tights is included for all Ballet performers ONLY and will be distributed with the recital costume. Tights or shoes are not included for all other costumes but may be required. Dancers are measured for costumes in the fall during the week of October 10-14. PARENTS ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR ATTENDING THE SIZING AND SELECTING SIZES. The costumes are distributed as they arrive at the studio; usually in the months of January - April, but in some instances not until May. Costumes come from a variety of manufacturers, so students with multiple costumes may not receive all of their costumes at the same time. To ensure that there are no costume problems, students should not wear their costumes prior to their photo session / in-studio costume rehearsal, dress rehearsal or performance.

ALTERATIONS / EXCHANGES

Alterations and/or exchanges are sometimes needed. EDS will arrange a day for alterations in May but please keep in mind this will be the responsibility of the student’s parent. Watch your weekly studio newsletter for the date and times. If you receive your costume before May and know you need alterations, it's best to arrange those on your own.

EXCHANGE POLICY: EDS can exchange costume sizes pending availability, for $25, if returned in its original packaging and the new size is submitted for order. One week after costume distribution, exchanges will not be possible. The $25 fee includes the cost of shipping the returned costume back, shipping of the new costume, handling fees and any restocking fees that may apply since the majority of costumes are made to order. To process an exchange complete this EXCHANGE FORM within 2 days of receipt and the costume needs to be brought in within 4 days so that melanie has time to see whether an exchange is even possible.

PAYMENT

Spring Recital costumes deposit will be paid by automatic bank account debit or automatic credit card payment on November 15th with the balance of the costume due on January 15th and are not refundable. This year, costumes will be ordered after THANKSGIVING which is earlier than in year's past due to Covid supply and demand issues. Costumes will not be ordered unless the deposit of $40/costume has been received.
