COMMUNICATION
LET’S TALK!
Communication is a high priority here at EDS especially with so many opportunities and constant activity, so we take great care to keep you informed.
WEEKLY E-NEWSLETTER AND MORE
Your number one tool for staying up to date with everything at EDS is your weekly studio newsletter. You will receive a copy via email each WEDNESDAY during the regular season (August – May) that will offer details on new classes, upcoming events and more. (Hint: It’s especially helpful during recital season!) We will also email you with important reminders and time-sensitive information. Beyond that we offer several other communication vehicles:
STUDIO BULLETIN BOARD
When you’re at the studio, be sure to check the bulletin board in the central lobby area. You will find important dates, interesting facts about dance and what is happening at the studio.
Q & A SESSIONS
During the season, Renee and Tiana will host live meetings via ZOOM and this is a great opportunity ask questions about EDS. We typically keep these meetings to no more than one hour and attendance is key.
EDS’s Facebook page is great for tracking new classes, mini- mesters and camps, as well as other general news about studio happenings. To be sure you don’t miss a thing, like the page and be sure to pin it to the top of your feed.
Also on Facebook, you’ll find a private group called EDS Student & Parent Community that can be really helpful throughout your child’s dance journey., and it is an excellent place to ask questions of other parents. It’s a closed group, so simply request an invite to join.
STUDENT-TEACHER CONFERENCES
As discussed earlier in this guide, we offer conferences with individual teachers for dancers by appointment. The conferences are a perfect time to learn how your dancer is doing in class. Be sure to take advantage of these conferences. Your child’s teacher can let you know what skills still need to be mastered before your child is ready to advance, which gives you an opportunity to sign them up for private lessons prior to testing if you have concerns.

We are always here and happy to answer your questions about EDS. If you have a question or concern about what’s happening in your child’s class, please email Renee and she will either get you in touch with the instructor directly or help facilitate the information you need.
