Gus is a dedicated service dog trained to support Maysun in managing anxiety and POTS. He provides interruption alerts by detecting signs of anxiety and offering comforting cues to help restore calm. Gus also specializes in pressure therapy, applying deep pressure to reduce anxiety and prevent blood pooling in Maysun’s feet. Additionally, he assists with item retrieval, minimizing the need for bending. His skills enhance Maysun’s independence, comfort, and overall well-being.
Winnie is a highly trained service dog who provides essential support for Kylee, particularly in managing POTS. She specializes in pressure therapy, applying gentle pressure to help prevent blood pooling in Kylee’s feet. Winnie also assists with mobility and stability, offering balance support when getting up from the floor or navigating stairs. Her skills enhance Kylee’s safety, independence, and overall quality of life.
Buzz provides vital support for Brenna, particularly in managing her POTS. With his keen senses, he detects and alerts her to changes in heart rate, giving her the opportunity to take necessary precautions. He also assists with mobility and stability, helping Brenna navigate uneven terrain and maintain balance. Buzz’s skills enhance her independence and significantly improves her quality of life.
Meredith & Smash
Meredith (24) and her bloodhound, Smash (6), have been a team since 2022 in Fort Bragg, NC. Smash helps with Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome and POTS by performing DPT, mobility tasks, and medical alerts. Self-trained with professional help, he’s a lifesaver every day!
Lysander & Chomp
Lysander (Calgary, AB) lives with Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome, POTS, chronic hemiplegic migraines, and Functional Neurological Disorder. Chomp, a 19-month-old standard poodle, has been in training since 8 weeks old and helps with cardiac and seizure response, object retrieval, spatial support, and more. This self-trained duo has been rocking public access for nearly a year!
Kyra & Bo
Kyra (California) lives with Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome, POTS, dysautonomia, and several other complex conditions. Her service dog Bo, a 4-year-old male Australian Shepherd, has been by her side for nearly two years. This self-trained team works together daily, with Bo assisting through medical alert and response, item retrieval, deep pressure therapy, counterbalance, guidance, and tactile stimulation. His support has been life-changing, empowering Kyra to navigate each day with greater independence and confidence.
Alex & Ragnar
Alex (Memphis, TN) lives with Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome, POTS, dysautonomia, and more. Their service dog Ragnar, an 11-month-old male Dutch Shepherd, has been their teammate for 9 months. This self-trained duo is making great strides—Ragnar currently performs DPT and grounding, and is learning counterbalance, sighted guide work, item retrieval, and closing doors.
Jen & Cooper
Jen Richards (Derry, NH) lives with Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome, POTS, dysautonomia, and other related conditions. Her service dog Cooper, a 5-year-old Goldendoodle, has been her trusted partner for 3.5 years. Trained by Alexia Miller at Woof Meow, Cooper helps with medical alerts, deep pressure therapy (DPT), cognitive awareness, and finding help when needed. Together, they make a reliable and caring team—supporting each other every step of the way.
Heather & Donut
Heather (Orlando, FL) lives with Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome, POTS, dysautonomia, trigeminal neuralgia, and more. Her service dog Donut—a sweet and smart 3-year-old Australian Shepherd—has been by her side for just over a year. Trained by Adventure Paws Indy, Donut helps with syncope alert and response, pressure therapy, and blood sugar alerts. Together, they make a strong and dependable team navigating life one step (and tail wag) at a time.
Elyssa & Lilo
Elyssa (Saint Augustine, FL) has been navigating life with anxiety, depression, and recently-diagnosed Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome. Her service dog Lilo, a nearly 3-year-old Catahoula Leopard Dog, has been by her side since she was just 8 weeks old. Self-trained with help from certified trainers, Lilo is a one-of-a-kind helper—reminding Elyssa to eat, encouraging her physical therapy with a speech button, providing deep pressure therapy for pain and anxiety, and creating space in public by circling and guarding. As Elyssa adapts to her EDS diagnosis, Lilo is now learning new mobility tasks, proving that this team is always growing—together.
Jackie & Joy
Jackie (Apeldoorn, The Netherlands) lives with Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome, POTS, dysautonomia, and other complex medical conditions. Her service dog Joy, a 5-year-old small mixed breed, has been her teammate for nearly two years. Currently in team training with Jacqueline from JAC Assistentiehonden, Joy is already helping with tasks like opening doors and drawers, retrieving items and medications, removing clothing, and alerting to changes in blood sugar, heart rate, blood pressure, and oncoming dystonia attacks. With Joy by her side, Jackie is tackling each day with strength, trust, and a whole lot of heart.
Shelby & Sprout
Shelby (Grand Junction, CO) lives with Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome, POTS, dysautonomia, and more. Her service dog Sprout, a 2-year-old Lab/Poodle mix, has been by her side since August 2023. Together, they’ve worked with a local trainer and completed the AKC program. Sprout currently helps with cardiac alert for POTS, psychiatric support for anxiety, panic attacks, and medical PTSD, and even carries keys, bags, and whatever else she’s handed. She’s now adding mobility tasks to her growing skill set—proving she’s as smart as she is supportive.
Emma & Laddin
Emma (Fredericksburg, VA) lives with Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome, POTS, dysautonomia, seizures, MCAS, Chiari, spinal instability, gastroparesis, anxiety, and ADHD. Her service dog Laddin, a 2-year-old Great Pyrenees/Labrador Retriever/German Shepherd mix, has been with her since he was just 3 months old and is fully self-trained. Laddin helps with cardiac and blood pressure alerts, allergen detection for barley, mobility support like counterbalance and guiding, and anxiety interruption. Together, they make a strong and deeply connected team.
Zoe & Baymax
Zoe (Fredericksburg, VA) lives with Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome, POTS, MCAS, spinal instability, and gastroparesis. Her service dog Baymax, a 4-year-old poodle mix, has been by her side since he was just 8 weeks old. As a professional dog trainer, Zoe trained Baymax herself. He assists with heart rate and blood pressure alerts, deep pressure therapy, medication and supply retrieval, and mobility support—making him a vital and trusted partner in everyday life.
Angelica, Crichton & Calcifer
Angelica from Lakewood, WA is partnered with two incredible Labradors: Crichton (left), a seasoned 8-year-old service dog, and Calcifer (right), a 1-year-old currently in training. Together, they support Angelica through conditions like Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome, POTS, and Mast Cell Activation Disorder. Crichton performs essential tasks such as high heart rate alerts, deep pressure therapy, and crowd control. Calcifer is learning to assist with retrieval and migraine alerts. These two are a powerful team making every day more manageable!
