Flooding on Amboy

During the heavy thunderstorms/flood alerts, Pleasant Avenue and Waltuma Avenue direct streams of water into a section of Amboy Avenue. Watch a sample flood here from the Stewarts side perspective that occurred 7/11/19. I was fortunate to but catch another flood on 7/17/19, but this was during a flash flood warning which occurred at 9 PM. Here is the video I recorded at 9:50 PM when it was drizzling.

Despite 7 catch basins, there are 10-20 times a year that this section gets overwhelmed with water. Business owners in Jade Dynasty and Nick's Place have verified that the issue has been present for over 30 years. The issue seems to have become better with the bumpouts, but still exists.

Nick's Place owner said that when his business was where Babooshka is, he noticed similar flooding.

With the plans to make Amboy Avenue a downtown with 4-story buildings, there will be less soil exposure. Engineers will need to make sure that they work on correcting flooding on Amboy and do not add more with the new developments.

See the videos collected on 4 different dates in a month. Some are during heavy rains, while others are not. The section between Pleasant and Waltuma are the only sections that flood. From the videos and from being live when it happened, it seems Pleasant Avenue is the culprit. Waltuma Water can cross Amboy Avenue and continue down past Jade Dynesty.
