13 PennWest Edinboro Student PSEA members attended the 2024 Student PSEA State Conference and Convention at the Eden Resort to advance their pedagogy and practice. Our members sat through three different professional development sessions and got to listen to Keynote Speaker, Elizabeth Raff.

Renowned children's book author, Julia Cook, visited the members of PennWest Edinboro Student PSEA to discuss the importance of inclusivity in children's books and the ways in which picture books can be used to teach difficult topics to little children. We also had a guest special appearance from her two dogs.

This summer, Gavin Mitsdarfer was one of the delegates to attend the National Education Association Aspiring Educators Conference and National Education Association Representative Assembly in the city of brotherly love, Philadelphia.
Despite the chaos of the week, Gavin became elected as the Zone 1 Director of the AE Caucus.
