TEC SKILL SET

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

I was brought into the project just after the logo had been developed. The client needed a visual identity to connect over 100 SKUs under the TEC SKILL SET flooring products umbrella. Package graphics would be applied to bottles, boxes, tubs, tubes, and jars. Signage would also need to be developed following Lowes' retail guidelines.

DESIGN SOLUTION

The challenge was to develop packaging for mortar, grout, cleaners, and caulk that was visually interesting and aided consumers in the purchase process. Large numbers were used to identify the major steps in DIY flooring installation. Color coding was used to differentiate different pricing tiers. Consistency over such a large line of products was a priority. Particular care was taken to apply certain visual anchors in the same position, like the logo, step numbers, and labels. Illustrations of the most often used tools were developed to assist with product instructions and installation. The line work was kept simple to create visual elements that were easily recognizable.
