Designed as a place for people to take a break after a long journey, Tawaquf green bench is a sitting medium made by natural material which is bamboo (90%). Its represent the idea of parametric design that close to nature with its unique repetition of form. Tawaquf itself come from an arabic word, "Waqafa" which means stop or pause. The development of this concept is get from surah Al-Ankabut verse 64 where Allah said that this world is the only place for passing by while the akhirat is a real home. So, related from that verse, we can say that Tawaquf is only a place for us to passing by and take a rest before we go to the real destiny that we want. We use bamboo as the main material for this Tawaquf bench because we want to show an appreciation of nature on the site where there are some wild bamboos that are not well-preserved. We also combining this bench with edible garden, aquarium and flowing water to make it interesting in order to attract people to come here. We can do a lot of things while passing by this Tawaquf bench such as reading book, eating the plant from edible garden, enjoying the voice of flowing water and also interacting with aquatic life in the aquarium! We want people to appreciate their journey and get some enjoyable experience while sitting on this bench.
