Organic architecture is a philosophy of architecture which promotes harmony between human habitation and the natural world. This is achieved through design approaches that aim to be sympathetic and well-integrated with a site, so buildings, furnishings, and surroundings become part of a unified, interrelated composition first coined by American Architect, Designer and Writer which is Ar. Frank LLoyd Wright
Our group had chosen the idea of organic architecture as Frank Lloyd Wright’s architecture philosophy. It stands for reinterpretation of natural principle, with are more natural than natural itself, which is design that can blends in with its surrounding. As a result, I came up with the concept of a hive of honeybees, which is one of the organic elements. The lantern design come from hexagonal geometrical shape and the thick wall that mostly been applied in frank Lloyd wright’s building design.
Frank Lloyd Wright’s Organic Architecture philosophy have proved that the role of human being to bargain the acceptance of a building and both with the atmosphere of the mother nature were both intertwined in proposing a functional design concept and towards the sustainability. From this Project, I came out with the idea of the spider web lantern which was suited best with Frank’s most known philosophy of Organic Architecture that pursued the combination of both nature creation and the solid structure that were both correlated. Spider Web is a nature element created by the nature creature (Spider) that it possessed both lines of verticals and horizontals which create a shelter to the spider stay put. The Correlation of the nature element (irregular and made of nature materials) with the geometrical form from the spider web inspired me to create a Spider Web Lantern
For this project, our group had chosen the concept of organic achitecture as it is frank lloyd wright’s philosophy in architecture. It promotes harmony between human habitation and the natural world. Hence, i decided to come up with the ideation of flowers which is one of the organic elements. The structure and the pattern of the lantern is made out from geometrical shapes as frank lloyd wright loves to use geometry in his design such as buildings, furnitures and ornaments.
