Who is interested in either fall and/or winter cheer for the 2021-22 school year
What do I need before attending?
Complete the interest form for this upcoming year on the 'Interest Form' page.
Complete the waiver for Wild. You will receive this after completing the interest form.
Why should I attend?
Tumbling is an important part of our competition rubric. Not only in terms of difficulty, but execution as well.
Attending tumbling classes once a week in place of practice is the norm among other area high school teams.
Going to tumbling allows us to use more of our regular practice time to focus on other aspects of the routine such as stunting, and skills can be more safely learned with the use of the equipment supplied at Wild.
Skills are made during the off-season.
Open tumbling will continue through the fall season this year
This means that tumbling is not mandatory for fall cheerleaders to attend, but this allows for cheerleaders who only do winter season to attend and continue to build their skills.
After winter season, tumbling is a mandatory practice and will not be used for learning new skills, but for perfecting and becoming consistent with the ones that were learned during the off-season.
If you choose not to attend open tumbling, you are unlikely to improve and meet the growing demands of competitive cheerleading. Especially if you wish to be on varsity for the winter season.
Why do I have to pay?
Off season practices are optional. You are not on the team yet, so the cheer fund cannot cover the cost of optional instruction.
We are *hoping* to fundraise enough money or secure some type of school funding that can cover tumbling practices during the winter season, however, we are unfortunately behind on fundraising due to the losses from this past year.
If $6 per week is a serious issue for you, PLEASE reach out to a coach so we can work something out. We want all athletes to have equal access to instruction regardless of financial situation.
$6 for an hour of private tumbling is CHEAP. You are not going to get this type of specialized instruction elsewhere.
How do I get there?
For now, the school does not provide transportation
Carpooling is always encouraged. During the season, the excuse of “not having a ride” is not excused, as you have other teammates who want you at practice and can always help you out if you PLAN AHEAD!
I’m an overachiever, I want more instruction, where can I get that?
You are ALWAYS welcome (and encouraged) to MORE tumbling instruction on your own.
There are plenty of local All-Star Cheer gyms who you can reach out to about private or small group classes. Many offer high school workouts during the summer too! I will always share those as I find out about them.
