The People's Anarchic Society of O-Haven, or P.A.S.O. for short, was founded in 2349 after a rebel group consisting of 15,000 remaining rebels evacuated Saturn’s moon, Europa, after 4 years of open rebellion against the Federation. The rebels relocated to a newly constructed O’Neil cylinder, the O-Haven was the first of its kind. The O-Haven uses its own rotational velocity to simulate gravity within it. Photon-blocking materials coat most of the Habitat’s surface, keeping it hidden from the Federation. The O-Haven has a dual drive locomotion system. A Bussard RamJet collects and stores hydrogen from space and uses it as fuel for propulsion, alongside an emergency hyperdrive system, in case of its location being compromised. At the back of the station. The O-Haven has the manufacturing and agricultural capacity to luxuriously accommodate a population of a small 21st-century nation. The O-Haven is the first and possibly only habitat of its size, and is the treasure and home of more than 90% of PASO’s population.
The other 10% live in other habitats across the galaxy, acting as military outposts, embassies for allied civilizations, research institutes, or even Photoid launch sites.
The most recognizable component of a PASO army is its MechLord general.
Mechlords have a variety of neural implants that accelerate their response time or magnify their decision-making ability. These implants allow a MechLord to react and plan out the complex and rapid ground and space battles that they have with the Federation. MechLords have a powerful 1000 dBi antenna attached to their skull, which allows them to control and monitor a variety of drones, mechs, ships, probes, aircraft, etc. A standard MechLord is capable of controlling 40 freighter ships in battle without issue. In a ground invasion, a Mechlord can instruct an army of tens of thousands of ground robots, alongside several mech platoons, several air squadrons, and a freighter for space bombardment.
The Implants that make this are not understood by almost everyone, even among the highly educated PASO citizens. There are only four people who understand the inner workings of the Implants; they are always monitored and watched to ensure they don’t leak vital information about the Implants. They are restricted to O-Haven and cannot leave under any circumstances.
These measures are taken to ensure that the Federation and any other competing civilizations can never create and have their own MechLord implants.
PASO works with Avali and Mēness groups regularly. PASO willingly constructs Space habitats and loans out their tech for cheap in exchange for defensive Pacts. These diplomatic efforts are responsible for the development of a large number of planets and of systems, both in the galactic edge and center.
Corpse crawlers are a great threat to the faction. Asteroid mining operations are at great risk of hibernating corpse crawlers.
Their habitats, including O-Haven, are at risk of having their lower chambers infested with corpse crawlers, where they might breach the surface and pose a risk to citizens. Thanks to a partnership with an Avali faction, PASO developed specialized flamethrowers that operate in space alongside state-of-the-art purging systems to deal with infestations.
