Doctoral faculty will be compensated for serving as dissertation chairs or committee members as follows:
The stipend is not predicated upon or related to EDOC 8000 credit hours.
Doctoral faculty will be compensated on a lump sum basis:
Dissertation Advisor
Total of $1500 for each completed dissertation: $750 after a successful prospectus defense and $750 after a successful dissertation defense.
If a student did not pass a prospectus defense, the Dissertation Chair will need to work with the student until the prospectus is in good shape for a successful defense. Same for the dissertation defense.
Payments will be triggered by the submission of the Prospectus Signatory Form and the Dissertation Signatory Form (https://sites.google.com/view/eddwebster/home/important-forms).
Dissertation Committee Member
Total of $700 for each completed dissertation: $350 after a successful prospectus defense and $350 after a successful dissertation defense.
Payments will be triggered by the submission of the Prospectus Signatory Form and the Dissertation Signatory Form (https://sites.google.com/view/eddwebster/home/important-forms).
Co-Chair
Any Co-Chair is assumed to take on 50% of the effort and service and so the payment will be split evenly between the two Chairs, i.e., $375 per person after each successful defense.
Change of Chair/Committee Member
A requested change in a dissertation committee must be made by the student and it will be reviewed by the Director of Ed.D. Any approved changes must be documented using the Dissertation Committee Members form (https://sites.google.com/view/eddwebster/home/important-forms).
For full-time Webster faculty: stipends will be processed if the professional service counts as an overload.
Stipends will be processed in August, December, and May of each year. For any doctoral faculty who received partial compensation under the prior procedure, the partial compensation will be deducted from the full stipend amount to avoid overpayments. Please contact Dawna Moore if you have questions.
Per Office of Academic Affairs' guidelines, it is important to note that full-time administrators and staff at Webster cannot recieve stipends if they serve on dissertation committees, and doctoral students should avoid conflict of interest when inviting people on their committees; supervisors or colleagues at the same office should not serve on dissertation committees.
DDP Stipends are on this page.
