Assistantships

The School of Education offers only one Graduate Assistantship. The Graduate Assistant works 20 hours per week (at a rate of $16.22 per hour) for the School of Education when school is in session (excludes Summer term), and the position offers 50% coverage for tuition incurred from joining any Webster University's School of Education programs. This position is highly competitive.

Note: The availability of the Graduate Assistantship varies. There is no Graduate Assistantship in the 2021-22 academic year.

Tuition Remission & Reimbursement

Tuition Remission:

Webster University offers full-time employees (faculty and staff) tuition remission if such benefit is listed on their employment contracts and if they meet the Human Resources guideline of having one year of full-time employment at Webster. Click here to view this information

Employees at other campuses or overseas need to verify their tuition remission policy with Human Resources.

The Ed.D. program limits the number of tuition remission participants based on the total number of admitted students in a cohort. The admission decision among the pool of tuition remission applicants is based on the GRE scores, academic performance, references, match of research interests with our faculty, and interview results. Admission results approved by the Ed.D. Director and Dean of Education are final. Rejected applicants will not be automatically considered for the next cohort. They need to reapply to the program for the next cohort. Applicants are required to indicate their payment method on the application portal.

Tuition Reimbursement:

Many school districts in the St. Louis area offer tuition reimbursement for staff obtaining a higher degree. Below is a list of school districts' policies on tuition reimbursement. To find more information about tuition reimbursement through your own school district, please consult your HR department.
