How to EMBED and use a YouTube Video in either KEYNOTE or POWERPOINT
You have found a YouTube Video that you would like to show your class or use with a presentation using software like PowerPoint or Keynote. Using conversion software you have downloaded the video you would like to use. So now what should you do?
Many of you will use either KEYNOTE (Mac & iPad users) or PowerPoint (Mac, iPad and PC users. Remember that PowerPoint will read KEYNOTE presentations but during the conversion it may change the arrangement of your slides.
KEYNOTE USERS
Embed YouTube video to Keynote
As you are working you Keynote you will need to have your video location available for your use. While you are working on a slide, you can drag the video file directly into Keynote.
Like any other media asset you can use Keynote's inspector panel to add a border, shadow and even a reflection.
You can trim the YouTube videos as you like for the YouTube video to Keynote presentation.
Keynote offers some really nice advanced video controls from within the Inspector.
Go to the top of your screen to View and down the menu to Show Inspector
Click on the QuickTime logo on the top right of theInspector panel. You can change the poster image
(i.e. the image that appears before the video plays)
and you can also adjust the start and stop markers.
Save it to your network folder on your H drive.
POWERPOINT USERS
You can also click the Video icon in a content layout to insert a video.
