DELETING ITEMS IN GMAIL OR DRIVE In GAFE, when a user deletes an item in either their email or drive, it remains in their trash for 30 days by default. The user can easily retrieve the document or email from their trash during this time. Once it's been deleted from trash (that is, either 30 days has passed, or the user opened the trash, selected the item again, and chose to delete it permanently), it can still be recovered through the admin console for an additional 25 days after the permanent deletion. The drive data or emails are then restored to their original folders in the user's account. For either the user or the admin, these are very simple procedures. One caveat: data can't be restored if it will cause the user to exceed their drive quota.
