Early in the mating cycle I capture the Osprey circling above me. THey are impressive raptors.
They make flight look easy as they pass above hunting for food and generally observe what's going on in their territories.
This Osprey soared above me a couple of times, and watched me, as I watch him.
We connected as his head is crooked down to get a better look, and see who am I.

I took an afternoon trip to the Lloyd's Neck, Long Island's North Shore to shoot Eagles known to be nesting in Center Port. Insead I found an abundance,of Osprey Nests, triple of what I had seen the year before. Shooting began around 4:30 in the afternoon after a fleeting throundr storm, when the birds returned to their nest. Osprey once endangered motivating a group of Stony Brook residents to found the Environmental Defence Fund (EDF) , which took the US government to court, and won their case to cease the pesticide spraying of DDT on half of the birds. The bird eggs frail, cracked under the during the nesting period. when Osprey nested. . EDF changed the law and continues to fight on protecting environmental diversity. The birds I saw were a result fo the prolonged bann.
