What is the compelling cliff hanging hook to the story line of "Climate Change the Immediate Existential Threat" ? There is no outcome already written. Your the Hero in our community story. Bonnie & Jamie’s Great Seal Adventure is an ongoing environmental project by photographers Jamie Ellin Forbes and Bonnie Bredes designed to engage the viewer in observation of seals wintering on the shores of Long Island. Their images document the intrinsic value and benefits of diversity to the natural beauty of the landscape through photographs. The images are intended to encourage public stewardship for the ecosystems documented to clarify the viewer's understanding of what may be contributing to the change of seal groups in the coastal waters of Long Island. Please join the conversation for Eco-advocacy on the call for Activism page! We can support our shared environments by participating in conservation together.
My impressions of the landscapes displayed on these pages expressed the everyday activity I recorded 2019-2023. I hoped to display a syncretistic connection between ourselves and the environment. The plants, insects, and animals, we see daily in our natural landscapes and resources contribute to our health welfare and pleasure. The intrinsic value in local scenes we all relate to are featured are in photographs. At times I am surprised with their piercing beauty. Other days the destruction I capture in pictures saddens me. As days, months, and years pass as I record our landscapes shifting. Due to climate change, pollution, human encroachment on ecosystems, and invasive species challenges are waiting for us to tackle.
Take a moment to watch the interviews, by conservationists, and ecological leaders. See March Yaggi, Kara Fernandes, and Lindsay Schlap discussing their participation in Eco-awareness as advocacy . Each encouraged me to participate as a caretaker for our waterways, parks, and gardens. It is my hope the facts, images, and connections to resources on the site inspire you to become involved as you sit in your backyard, on your apt balcony, walk-in your neighborhoods, or drive down your daily streets.
