Stand where knights defended Malta at Fort St. Angelo, the mighty heart of the Great Siege of 1565! This 800-year-old fortress towers over the Grand Harbour entrance, once home to the Grand Master of the Knights of St. John. Explore its thick walls, secret passages, and the Upper St. Angelo Bastion where 700 defenders held off 40,000 Ottoman invaders.
Then hop aboard a traditional luzzu boat from the Valletta waterfront for an authentic Maltese fishing boat ride along the fort and by the Three Cities! These wooden boats glide past fortifications, showing Fort St Angelo from the water like the knights saw enemy ships approaching.
Climb to the roof for epic 360° harbour views and imagine cannon fire echoing during on of history's greatest naval battles. See restored knightly armour, medieval cannons, and the chapel where Grand Master La Valette prayed before victory.
Perfect for students: Touch real siege-era stone. Debate tactics that saved Europe. Sketch or photograph the fortress for history projects. English signage explains every battle detail.
