River Renty

This stretch consists of the Blue Bridge to Kirkthorpe Weir, both sides. The side nearest Washlands lake can be accessed either by going over the Black Bridge and right at the lake or down the bath behind the canal and right at the lake again. The far side can be accessed by going over the Blue Bridge and turning left. There are between 10 and 15 pegs, 3 of which are in the deep area where the water can reach over 20ft. Numerous species can be caught in this stretch such as perch, roach, rudd, dace, bleak, chub, bream, carp, eel, pike and seasonal trout. Matches are often held on this stretch with the current match record being over 40lb.
