News and events...

During August our Deanery has been mentioned twice more on the Diocesan Website. Firstly, profilng David Watters (one of our Readers and a long time Synod Representative and Lay Chair) and then celebrating the appointment of the Rev Jo Northey as Oversight Minister to the new Southern Group of parishes.

In other news, St Sampson's in South Hill held a very successful Nature Detectives Day as a free holiday activity for local families - see Nature Detectives Day and St Sampson's Living Churchyard

Rev Jo Northey licensed as Oversight Minister

At a service in Millbrook on Monday 21st August, the Reverend Jo Northey was formally licensed in her new role as oversight minister for Cornwall’s southeastern peninsula, an area encompassing Torpoint, Maryfield, St John, Millbrook, Cawsand, Maker, Rame, Antony, Sheviock, Hessenford, Tideford, Downderry and St Germans.

During March and April 2023 a number of our deanery churches (and one neighbouring one - we are linking up with St Martin's to extend CAP support in our area) were featured on the Diocesan Website - and in one case on the BBC television news and website and also in the national press. It's great to be able to share good news, so follow the links below for more details.
