Getting Started
EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW!
EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW!
American Kenpo is a style of martial arts derived primarily from Chinese Kenpo with inspiration from Boxing and Judo as well. Our style focuses on practical self-defense application, and with more advanced students, understanding the physics and principles that make self-defense techniques effective.
At ETKK, you can expect to have lots of fun in a family-like environment that prioritizes quality self-defense and discipline. We teach more than just martial arts material. We aim to develop each of our students' self confidence, strength, conditioning, discipline, balance, flexibility, cardiovascular health, and overall satisfaction with life.
Classes and schedule vary by age & level of maturity, but you may click on the criteria of the student in question for information on the program they'd most likely participate in!
We recommend attending class 2 times per week (or 3 for adults) to make the most progress you can! Progress is best made when you can take the new information we teach you and review it at home before your next class to ensure you are ready to take on more new information next time. Practice at home is highly encouraged to get the most out of your learning experience.
We offer extra sparring, grappling, weapons, & gymnastics training in our Black Belt Club membership (DOES NOT FAST TRACK A BLACK BELT PROMOTION!). While the program is mostly youth students, Adults are also invited to participate in the classes for FREE!

Parents' Night Out is a monthly event where kids are invited to participate in whatever the month's theme is. Our most popular Parents' Night Out events include Laser Tag, Ninja Warrior, Nerf War, and Water Park!
Parties for birthdays or other special occasions can be booked by anyone looking to have a karate themed event! These parties are typically 2-hours long with an hour of games and an hour of food (not provided) and karate activities including board breaking and sparring! Modifications can be made to the party format upon request!
Summer Camp is a week-long karate camp where students will expand their self-defense knowledge as well as participate in outdoor games, swimming, field trips, and a belt test at the end of the week! (Enrolled students only)

Our tournament team is an invite only group of the best students our studio has to offer. We don't look for skill and proficiency first, rather the best tournament candidates are those who are willing to work hard, adapt their training based on instruction, and put their best foot forward to represent our studio in the local, regional, and national levels.
If you are interested in joining the tournament team, step one is the enroll in classes and show the instructors how hard you are willing to work for it. Those who show the most effort will be noticed.
