Thank you for visiting our virtual exhibit!

These various houses, along with many more, have been preserved through the hard work of numerous individuals and groups, who seek to preserve the area's history for the future. For anyone interested in architecture or local history, these structures provide a glimpse into the past, and illustrate how industry, migration, culture, and even social status influenced the simple and glamorous styles of the 19th century.
