Thursday, February 19: THEATRICAL PERFORMANCE: Terror Of The Soul: a DIA/MONOlogue?, written and performed by Julio Ángel Olivares Merino
Through a vivid and evocative reading and audiovisual projection of Edgar Allan Poe’s primary poetic lines, dreams, allegories and symbols —as well as his grotesque and bizarre scenarios—, the audience will delve into the immortal writer’s essential themes and mindscapes. This performance will offer an updated reflection on Poe’s imaginative pillars of the sublime, a moving unearthing of feelings, ghosts of diaspora, fits of delirium and nightmares which will combine echoes of the “attentive” wanderer and his graphic intimacies of the self.
Terror Of The Soul: a DIA/MONOlogue? is an insightful journey for lovers of Poe’s poetic imagination manifesting the power of words, silence and polyphony, to leave a lingering reverberation, a vaporous homage to Edgar Allan Poe’s eternal legacy.
This activity will be conducted in English. There will be no simultaneous interpretation into Spanish.
