The 2024 SAVE THE FROGS! Art Contest runs through November 1st, 2024 and is now accepting entries.
The 2023 SAVE THE FROGS! Art Contest received 1,842 entries, from 1,681 participants in 69 countries!
The SAVE THE FROGS! Art Contest invites you to create your coolest frog artwork. The contest raises awareness of the amphibian extinction problem by getting people involved and interested, and the artwork is used on t-shirts, stickers and posters, and in greeting cards and books, to both publicize our cause and raise money for SAVE THE FROGS! amphibian conservation efforts.
Anybody! People of all ages, nationalities, and skill levels are encouraged to enter the contest.
The SAVE THE FROGS! Art Contest serves as an excellent method for getting students interested in both frogs and art, and gives them a productive and enjoyable diversion from their normal school activities, while educating them about frog extinctions. We encourage students and teachers to get their art classes involved on Save The Frogs Day. We encourage amateur and professional artists and graphic designers to take part as well. And the more countries represented the better!
The Grand Prize Winner will:
Win $100 cash (well, it may be a check or wire transfer…)
See their winning artwork featured on the SAVE THE FROGS! website and across our social media networks.
Win a year long SAVE THE FROGS! Membership
Receive frog fame.
The 2nd and 3rd Place Artists will receive all of the above but NOT the cash prize.
Many honorable mentions will also be acknowledged on this website, along with their artwork.
(1) The Contest runs through November 1st, 2024.
(2) Submitted artwork must be your original creation!
(3) No tracing of others’ artwork.
(4) You may submit up to three entries per person. Teachers can submit art on behalf of all their students.
(5) Do not submit photos. Do not include any form of photography in your art. Visit the SAVE THE FROGS! Photo Contest page if you like photos.
(6) All artwork must refer to SAVE THE FROGS! by including, visibly and legibly:
EITHER
(a) the phrase SAVE THE FROGS!
(plural, capitalized, with an exclamation point!)
OR
(b) the phrase savethefrogs.com
(lowercase with NO exclamation point)
OR
c) both SAVE THE FROGS! and savethefrogs.com
(as in the logo below).
(7) Submission of artwork constitutes your agreement to the Art Contest Terms & Conditions. Please read these over, as they describe your rights to the submitted artwork as well as ours.
(8) On the entry form you must inform us how your art was created:
– By Hand
– Graphic Design Software
– AI Software
If you use graphic design or AI software, please tell us the name(s) of the software you used (in the About Your Art section of the entry form).
– Your writing is art as well, so try to make the text artistic. Whatever text you put on your art, whether it be SAVE THE FROGS!, savethefrogs.com or a line of poetry, make it look nice, not like a last minute, hurried addition.
– Please note that both SAVE THE FROGS! and savethefrogs.com are PLURAL, meaning the letter “S” must appear at the end of the word FROGS. We are NOT SAVE THE FROG! and we are NOT savethefrog.com.
– Artwork may be hand-drawn or digitally produced.
– For hand-drawn art, take a great photo of it or scan it and submit it digitally.
– Your art can feature frogs, toads, salamander, newts or caecilians.
– Your art can be full-color or black & white (for example, one-color frog outlines of the type used for a coloring book).
– You can draw the SAVE THE FROGS! logo if you like…or you can opt to not include a logo at all.
– The possibilities are endless. Use your artistic license and enjoy!
Use your artistic license and do what you think is best, but bear in mind these suggestions:
– No glitter please — it’s messy!
– No religious content.
– Follow ALL the instructions on the entry page.
– Whitespace does not look very appealing. We suggest putting color on the entire piece.
– Do not put your frogs at the extreme edge of your art, as they may get chopped off during the scanning or printing process. Try to leave at least 0.25in (6.5mm) of “other art” such as leaves, grass, river etc…we would rather chop the river edge than the frog’s leg! The same goes for any writing on your art: don’t put it too near the edge.
– Mail-in entries can be any size you wish. We do though suggest that you stick with 8.5 x 11″ or A4 paper unless you truly have a reason to go larger. Big art is harder for us to deal with.
– Have fun!
