K-8 students are invited to illustrate an economic or financial concept, suitable for publication as the “picture of the month” on our 2025 wall calendar.
Unleash your student’s or child’s creativity, imagination and talent by showing how well they understand these economic and personal finance concepts.

As I understand it, they are hoping that second grade students (for example), will submit calendar pages using second grade economic literacy themes/vocab.

Awards:
Fourteen winning students will be selected by a panel of judges.
Winning students and their teachers will each receive $50 and a complimentary calendar.
Winning individual youth entries will receive $50 and a complimentary calendar.
Winners will be chosen and announced in May 2024
Winning entries will be published in the 2025 Economics/Personal Finance Concept Calendar.
Rules for Entry:
Please read carefully and abide by the rules so your entry is not disqualified.
One entry per student or youth in grades K–8.
A teacher or parent should submit one completed entry form (above) per each calendar entry.
Each calendar illustration must be:
Original and hand-drawn in color, not black and white
Horizontal (landscape) on an 8 ½” x 11” white sheet of paper
Without brand names or trademarks
Without the student name on the picture
Reproducible for color printing – intense colors are suggested
NOT folded
The entry should illustrate an economic or financial concept provided in the above Glossary and/or Key Concept list from Colorado Academic Standards; concepts may be combined when appropriate.
The economic/financial concept illustrated should be displayed clearly on the drawing, spelled correctly, and written in large lettering.
We prefer the original artwork and application be mailed, but will accept a clear scan or picture of the artwork and application. Please retain the originals, which will be required if selected as a winning entry.
All entries will be judged on accuracy of content, spelling, artistic excellence, geographic and grade level distribution.
