TSU TN & PY has developed a mobile app for the trucker intervention. The Mobile app based trucker registration process has been piloted in trucker intervention program implemented by Namakkal Taluk Lorry Owners Association (NTLOA) since 2017 in Namakkal district, Tamilnadu. Initially it was a challenge to install the app to all the field staffs as few of them did not have the android based phone and internet facility. The aim of the app constructed was to reduce the manual documentation and data entry error by the staffs. Once the app based data collection was started, slowly the data error has been reduced by the TI. Also, it helped to improve the overall program data quality. The app is constructed in user friendly manner. The app has the required reporting indicator options in drop down mode and hence it is easy for the user to choose options rather than typing the same. The options are given in Tamil language to read out easily. The staff can use the app to collect the data anywhere in their intervention areas. There are options available in app for offline data collection as the internet connectivity may not be available in field. Once they reached the area where the internet is available, the offline data would be moved to google drive sheet in cloud. At present in Tamilnadu two trucker intervention staffs are using this app based data collection more than three years. In Namakkal and Krishnagiri district trucker intervention programs are using the app without any struggle.

Apart from reporting, the app can be used to generate various analytical reports also so that the project staff can use them for planning their works.
