Title: Comprehensive service and developed IEC material in the Hindi language.

CMDA Trucker project is for Truckers in Tiruvallur District funded by TANSACS since 2009. The TI project office is functioning at CMDA Truck terminal Madhavaram which is a very big halting point in Tiruvallur District. Approximately the Truck terminal is 90 acres, has a very big parking facility. 1000 Trucks could be park inside the terminal, and the terminal has basic facilities such as shelter for Truckers, Clinic, Restaurant, Grocery shop, Tea shop, Recharge shop, and Clothing store. On average, 500 to 700 Trucks coming in and going out on a daily basis. Observed that, trucks comes from various states and 60% or majority of the Trucks comes from Rajasthan, UP, and Maharashtra.

The Trucker project staff thought of do something among Trucker other than TI project services. In this regard the TI staff established a good rapport with few service providers: World Vision, CAN STOP Institute, Meenakshi Medical College (Dental check-up) and Lions Club for the benefit of Truckers.

1. WORLD VISION organization provides few services for Truckers such as Water seat, Raincoat, and First AID kit. So far, 500 Water seat, Raincoat and the First kit provided to Truckers at free of cost through the TI project.

1. The water seat actually reduces the human’s body heat while driving. The water seat cost is Rs. 1500/-.

2. Raincoat to use during the rainy season.

3. First Aid kit: Bandage roll, Plaster, Ointment, The first AID kit cost is Rs. 700/-.

2. CAN STOP Institute does mouth cancer screening as a camp approach and further test and Treatment among Trucker at free cost.

3. Meenakshi Medical College does dental check-up as a camp approach among Trucker and further tests and Treatment at free cost.

As we know the world no tobacco day observe on 31^st May. The CMDA Trucker project had arranged a very program on 31.05.2019 at CMDA Truck terminal along with CAN STOP Institute, RNTCP and Meenakshi Medical College (Dental check-up).

CAN STOP Institute: 500 truckers undergone for mouth cancer check-up. 2 trucker’s detected symptoms of CANCER during the program and the same truckers had undergone further tests. 1 Trucker out of 2 detected mouth cancer and provided primary treatment by CAN STOP Institute. The follow-up and needs taken care of by the CAN STOP Institute.

RNTCP had collected 75 samples from Truckers and tested for TB. Luckily none detected TB positive.

Meenakshi Medical College: 150 Truckers have undergone dental check-ups.

Lions Club, Madhavaram: Provided lunch for 150 Truckers and the staff of CMDA Trucker Project, CAN STOP Institute, RNTCP, and Meenakshi Medical College.

CMDA Trucker project staff have developed IEC material in HINDI for the benefit of Long-Distance Truckers who could read only Hindi. The IEC material talks about basic on STI/HIV/AIDS and Condom use. The TI has printed 2000 pieces of IEC material and distributed to LDT.
