Students demonstrated and explored their knowledge of diverse materials by using tempera paint. Some of their materials involved: varied brushes, glue/marker caps, and cardboard.
By exploring with markers, coffee filters, and a spray bottle, the students created watercolor shells for their snails. They then imagined where their snails would journey by using sharpies, oil pastels, and watercolor paints.
Influenced by their love of Minecraft, the students explored with different materials and colors to create a portrait of their character using markers and construction paper.
By diluting tempera paint with water, students used droppers to create splatter/drip paintings. After drying, they are able to use sharpies to make diverse line marks.
Students had a blast creating their own rocket ships! On their way to space, they learned about the planets along the way -- even Pluto! Using Tempera paint, students were able to cut-out, design and paint their own rocket ships. After drying, the students had their picture taken and glued it inside their rocket's 'window'.
