First time using Adobe Illustrator, and did some simple coloring. I played with the gradient tool and stamps to make it a little more fun. While playing with the gradient tool, playing with the swatches and adding my own was useful.
Kind of like a coloring book - it's a cute elephant and a party butterfly yeaa !!

I really wanted to incorporate a rainbow design into my process, and luckily I found a way to do it with an assortment of pastels! I think pastel colors can make anything cute so I used a simple shape like a circle and used it as my main design. I thought it looked a little boring with just a circle in the middle so I split it so I could incorporate more colors into my design! It was really fun playing with the color slider and using an assortment of colors with this project. I thought it was cool to reflect and see my artwork become one huge piece with just a little editing. When I see this piece as a whole, I think of Summer or Spring, and it reminds me of a mural I see while walking along the boardwalk or a street on a nice sunny and warm day. I hope this piece brings as much joy to others as it did to me.
The 2nd image was my original idea, but it was too complicated for live paint. I still wanted to include it in my portfolio because I was proud of the design and inspiration for it. I focused on the trending y2k theme and studied how nail techs design their nail - copying it for my boxes.
This assignment was meant to serve as practice with shape builders. I wanted to keep a pastel theme going with my design and decided to keep it cute and simple. Of course, it's a basic pencil, but I wanted to add my own little take on it with the color gradients and anything extra.
For our image trace assignment, I used a picture I had taken of my durian Sonny Angel back in May last year. It was one of my first sonny angels from the Fruit series; I was so excited to have him lol. I wanted to add a pop of color, so I decided to combine a bright orange-golden gradient and hot pink. I'm quite proud of how it turned out, especially since the face is a little creepy but it turned out to be cute!
