The IDA is an international organization that concerns itself with the complex issues of dyslexia. Free resources include, but are not limited to, fact sheets regarding a variety of topics associated with dyslexia, a video library, and handbooks for both parents and educators. Access to journals such as Annals of Dyslexia and Perspectives on Language and Literacy is available with a membership.

The Virginia Joint Coalition for Learning Disabilities and Literacy has formed a collaboration of Virginia organizations associated with support for literacy and learning disability, Virginia Council for Learning Disabilities, Decoding Dyslexia Virginia, the NAACP education committees of the Fairfax, Arlington, and Prince William chapters, The Reading League-Virginia, and the Virginia Branch of the International Dyslexia Association. The mission of VJCLDL is to provide free professional development targeting a greater understanding of learning disabilities and literacy as identified by K-12 general and special educators, pre-service teachers, higher education faculty, and parents. We began a 2021-2022 series of webinars designed from the results of a Needs Assessment completed by general and special educators, parents, university and college faculty, and others.
The NCIL is a partnership among literacy experts, university researchers, and technical assistance providers, with funding from the United States Department of Education. The website is organized in four main sections: Support for Parents and Families, Schools and Districts, State Agencies, and Tools. The Tools section includes a Resource Repository, Improving Literacy Briefs, State of Dyslexia, Ask an Expert, and a Learning Literacy Glossary. The Virginia Council for Learning Disabilities (VCLD) is a statewide organization that promotes evidence-based teaching, collaboration, research, leadership, and advocacy within the Commonwealth. VCLD is composed of professionals who represent diverse disciplines and are committed to enhancing the education and quality of life for individuals with learning disabilities and others who experience challenges in learning.
The Reading League is an organization dedicated to building an awareness that the scientific research evidence base exists, fostering an understanding of how the evidence base informs classroom practice, and supporting educators as they implement instructional practices that align with the evidence base. Based in Syracuse New York, the Reading League encourages you to explore their Knowledge Base page for readings, videos, and other resources that will help you bump up your knowledge of the evidence base in order to make the most impact with your reading instruction.

AIM Institute for Learning & Research was founded in 2006 with the express purpose of providing teachers and professionals both specialized training and access to field experts in the areas of spoken language, reading, writing, and math. Resources include professional development opportunities, both online and face to face, as well as Access to the Experts series and a video archive of "teachable moments." Teachable Moments videos: brief video-based conversations with experts in the field are intended to answer commonly asked questions, preview or review critical information, and/or create further interest in topics related to student achievement. Additional resources may include resource links, articles, and slide presentations related to each video topic.

The State of Learning Disabilities: Understanding the 1 in 5
LD OnLine seeks to help children and adults reach their full potential by providing accurate and up-to-date information and advice about learning disabilities and ADHD. The site features hundreds of helpful articles, multimedia, monthly columns by noted experts, first-person essays, children’s writing and artwork, a comprehensive resource guide, very active forums, and a Yellow Pages referral directory of professionals, schools, and products. LDA visualizes a world in which learning disabilities are universally understood, so all individuals are accepted, supported, and empowered to live a self-determined life. LDA’s mission is to create opportunities for success for all individuals affected by learning disabilities through support, education, and advocacy. The Reading Institute, directed by Dr. Sharon Vaughn, is dedicated to understanding reading difficulties for students at all grade levels and validating evidence-based practices to prevent and remediate reading problems. The strands of research within this institute focus on adolescent literacy, English language learners, and early literacy.
Reading Rockets is a national multimedia project that offers a wealth of research-based reading strategies, lessons, and activities designed to help young children learn how to read and read better. Our reading resources assist parents, teachers, and other educators in helping struggling readers build fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension skills.
