On Day 3, the students will be expected to bring in their partner's recipe. The recipes will be placed around the room and will give all students a chance to sample foods in different cultures. Food is a great way to learn about a variety of cultures, as it keeps students engaged, but also can prompt questions about culture from students, so they become more culturally competent. At the end of class, the students will participate in a class discussion to determine what was taken away from the project. Ideally, the students will feel that their math skills have increased, and they will see their awareness of their own culture and the culture of their peers increase.Â
