Chad is a musician, writer, film director, activist, and an award-winning actor. Smith has held leading, supporting, and featured roles in several independent films, including the horror mystery thriller, The Suffering; the award-winning romantic drama, Last Night; the superhero comedy, Squid Man; and the upcoming films, Secret City Bluz, An Accidental Zombie (Named Ted), and The Meek. In 2015, he starred in the two-character, critically acclaimed 8-episode web drama on YouTube entitled Counselor, starring opposite Curtis Cook (House of Cards). For his performance, Smith received a 2016 Indie Capitol Award nomination for best supporting actor. In March 2017, Smith had his national television debut with a lead role in the TV One season finale of For My Man. As a filmmaker, in 2014, Smith cowrote and starred in his film directorial debut, the short vampire comedy Dark Therapy, in which he received the Gold Peer Award in the “Acting on Camera – Fiction Male” category from the Television, Internet & Video Association of DC. He also wrote and directed the short psychological sci-fi drama Rumination, which was an official selection for six film festivals and winner of the Rosebud Film Festival. He is Director of the Film Committee for DWASF.
