We appreciate each of you who have supported the Durham NC Stake FamilySearch Center this year. We also appreciate those family history consultants and other volunteers that assist in helping patrons searching for their ancestors. The Center supports members who need to establish a FamilySearch account, reactivate a former account, need assistance in researching ancestors, and those looking to complete ordinances for their departed ancestors. While the Center has regular hours (Tues/Sat 10:00 AM-2:00 PM, Tues 7:00-9:00 PM), it can also accommodate group requests, such as an appointment at other times in preparation for a ward or Branch temple trip. The Center is also open to non-members and is a resource to our community.
Elder David A. Bednar of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles has invited us to experience the Spirit of Elijah by participating in family history, and he promises that as we do, our patriarchal blessing will be more meaningful, our love for our ancestors will increase, our testimony of the Savior will deepen, and we will be protected from the influence of the adversary.
