We're excited to announce that the Durham NC FamilySearch Center will begin offering FamilySearch classes to help with your family tree. Classes will be taught by Sister Vivien Brown, currently serving as an MLS missionary for the Chapel Hill 1st Ward. Classes will be 15-30 minutes in length + question/answer time afterwards. Classes will be held on the 2nd and 4th Thursdays of each month at 7:00 PM. The FamilySearch Center will remain open until 9:00 PM for attendees who require assistance with their own FamilySearch challenges.
Upcoming class schedule/topic:
May 14: Pedigree Pathways--Exploring Every View
May 28: Source Linker--Connect, Correct, Complete
June 11: Wiki Wisdom--Winning with the Family Search Wiki
June 25: FamilySearch Fix-Ups--Avoiding Common Mistakes
July 2: Manageable Merging and Unmerging!
We hope you'll utilize this great opportunity to learn and progress in your personal temple & family history efforts.
Red Cross Blood Drive - Wednesday, April 29th, 12:00 - 5:00 pm, Stake Center Cultural Hall (1050 Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. Chapel Hill, NC 27514)
The American Red Cross reports an immediate need for blood donations. For patients who are in the ER, fighting cancer, or facing a life-threatening illness, this needed help cannot wait. If you are eligible to make a blood donation, we encourage you to schedule an appointment to do so during the blood drive held at the Stake Center. By doing so, you will help provide lifesaving care to patients in need, and you will receive the added benefit of a free mini-health assessment (blood pressure, hemoglobin, and pulse check), provided by a trained Red Cross staff member. Here's the link to sign up.
Primary Service Activity - Saturday, May 16th, 10:00am - 12:30pm, Durham Stake Center (1050 MLK Jr Blvd, Chapel Hill, NC 27514)
