Singles Box League

Guidance notes

1. Each player must play each of the other players within their BOX once before the specified date.

2. Two sets are played, with a tiebreak at 6 all, followed a championship tie break at 1 set all, if necessary.

3. Matches must be played by the date specified and results emailed by the winner to Catherine Karr via dunmowtennis@gmail.com and copied to your opponent.

4. If a match is unfinished due to bad weather the unfinished result should be emailed unless both players agree to replay the whole match before the deadline date for matches to be played.

5. The winning player will be awarded 3 points and the losing player 1 point.

6. All players will be jointly responsible for organizing and playing the matches by the date specified.  There will be no extension of time given to complete the necessary matches unless there are exceptional circumstances.

7. After the specified deadline date the points will be tallied and the top  2 players from each BOX will move into the BOX above and the 2 players with the least number of points will move to the BOX below for the start of the next BOX session.  If there is a points tie at the end of the session then game difference shall determine the placings.  This will help to ensure that you get a variety of players to play against.

8. The BOX results table will be put onto to the club website so you can keep track of your position.  A link to this will be sent to you in the opening email for each Box session.

9. The new set of boxes and deadline for the next session of BOX matches will be emailed to you with email addresses and contact numbers for each player. 

10.  It will be assumed that each player will continue to play in the next set of BOX league matches unless they let Catherine know before the end of the current set of box matches, so that they can be removed from their BOX.  Equally, if you wish to enter the BOX league please let Catherine know and you will be included in the next set of BOX matches.
