Summer Championship Finals Day 2025
Open Junior Tournament in the morning followed by Adult Finals in the afternoon.

Fabulous day of fun but competitive tennis. Great sportsmanship and club spirit on display. A day to remember. Well done to all who took part and especially our winners, Ollie and his sister, Jade.
Interested in playing tennis, join us at our Charity Open Day in memory of Lillian and try tennis for free. Get to meet existing members, join in fun games and have a drink and bite to eat as well.
We will be participating in Dunmow Showcase. An event to exhibit the multitude of activities available in Dunmow. Please come along and support.

Fish n Chip Night is back. The popular event has a new night, but still the same fun tennis and tasty supper. Come along and enjoy!
Join us to welcome our new President, Mark Jones at our Wimbledon Themed Party. There promises to be lots of tennis, pimms, strawberries and fun!
The second box league will be up and running. More players wanted to make it more competitive and fun.

Kids Camps - 2 to 5 April 2024 - Cancelled
Unfortunately, the Council will not allow the Club to use the courts in public time on Tuesday and Thursday mornings to run the camps.

Our Lillian Mitchell Family Fun Day was a great success. In memory of our friend and member Lillian. Special thanks to George for keeping the juniors entertained for 4 hours and Sandra for the tasty pancakes. Thank you to all those who took part and those who helped out. You all did a great job! We raised £211 for the Rainbow Trust Childrens Charity.

This week George will be working on your sliced volley. If this is a shot you struggle with please come to the Club on Saturday at 12 noon and George will work his magic on you! The cost is £10 per person.

The rain could not stop our stoic members from playing the Winter Club Championship finals today, although it did put pay to the BBQ!

The worthy winners were Emma and Jeff, seen here collecting their prizes from Richard, the tournament organiser. Well done to everyone who took part and a special thank you to Richard for all his hard work and effort making the event such a success.
Winter Championship Finals - 1pm
The semi finals and final will take place on Sunday 23 April starting at 1pm. It would be good to see as many members there as possible supporting the finalists, so please come along if you can. Masterchef, Jeff will also be providing delicious food from the BBQ. There is a £5 payment if you would like food and a drink or £3 for a drink only.

Our ladies 1 are now joint 3rd with Henham with 3 matches still to play one of which is against Henham this coming Tuesday. Good luck !
Getting ready for the summer season!!
The weather was kind for a change no rain, not too cold and not too much wind either. Pauline, Sandra and Carl also played. (Sorry no photo of them though!)
The Essex Small Clubs league divisions should be out next week so captains can start to plan their fixtures.
Two good wins and a narrow defeat this week. Well played teams.
Our mixed 1 team are currently in 1st place on 63 points having played 8 matches
Our ladies 1 team is in 4th place with 25 points after 3 matches

A mixed week for our Mixed 1 team. With 4 matches still to play before the end of April, only 9 points separate 2nd and 5th place in Division 1 so its still all to play for.

Last round of the Winter Club Championship was to be played. The winners will meet Louise Mann and Ollie Bond in the semi finals. The other semi final is Valissa Tatum and Paul Jessop versus Victoria Kass and Richard Boeve. Unfortunately, rain stopped play so the group stage will be played on Sunday 16 April 2023.
Unfortunately, last weeks shot of the week had to be postponed . So, this week George will be working one the Backhand top Spin.

Although we narrowly lost this match against Stansted we have won Division 2 convincingly with 77 points. Division 1 here we come! Thanks to everyone who played. A great team effort.

Eight teams battled it out at the Dunmow Tennis Quiz Night held at the Dourdan Pavillion. Everyone brought their own food and drink for convenience and had ten rounds of quiz questions and 2 picture rounds. It was a very close run competition, but the winners were Jane Beer's family team, Well done to them and all who took part and supported the event.

New Committee members were elected to the Committee. Paul Jessop, acting Chairman was appointed as Chairman, Catherine Karr replaces Jeff Booth as Club Secretary and Emma D'Costa took the vacant position and will be the Social Media Secretary. Thank you to Jeff for all his hard work and commitment to the Club and Committee over many years.
