Case study on how Isha increased their views 10 fold with a simple trick

Our E-media department was trying to find an innovative way to relaunch existing quotes to drive traffic to their website. Usually with organizations like Isha content is always abundant but often monotonous. So the creative team "Impressions" brainstormed with the E- media team and suggested replacing the generic images with illustrations. After creating a few mockups with vectors, abstract art we chose to go forward with this simple and vibrant hand-drawn style. I took a total of 21 quotes and illustrated them. A few changes and discussions later all of them were published. As we waited with bated breath the reviews started pouring in and it felt great. The department rejoiced and the metric of increase in views was successfully achieved.

Delightful Poems by Children

Isha was commemorating World Poetry Day 2021. The brilliant students of Isha home school and Isha Samskriti put their skills and came up with such amazing poems. It was difficult to say that these were budding writers and poets and not already seasoned professionals. These poems were going to be printed as well as be available online as a part of Isha magazine called the Forest flower.

Doing justice to these kids' poems was all I had in mind when I took up this project. The project was being coordinated by Alexandria and I grabbed the opportunity to have a word with her. Understanding how she wanted to showcase these talented kids to the world was very important.

The Shiva Paradox

Mahashivaratri, the great night of Shiva, is almost here. Who is Shiva? Sadhguru explains the existential phenomenon of Shiva, as well as the Yogi who is described in the lore. His contrasting facets can bewilder you and make you wonder, is this really all the same Being? Yes, and it is not accidental.

This particular article is one of my all-time favourites and it was also for Isha Forest Flower. I collaborated with the Web Designer to come up with this article telling beautiful stories on Shiva. The illustrations, the subtle use of the kolam as the divider are so unanimous with the Isha aesthetic yet appealing at the same time. The content itself was top notch and we came up with this beauty.

Nava Rasas – Let Your Emotions Flow

As Sadhguru says, emotions are the juice of your life. If there are no emotions in you, you will be like a dry stick. Every emotion you experience happens because of certain glandular secretions within you. If the secretions do not happen the way they should, then your emotions will go crazy. This is why emotion is referred to as rasa in Sanskrit, which literally means juice.The nava rasas are nine kinds of emotions or juices that you produce within yourself. One aspect of Indian classical dance is to express and master the nava rasas, or the nine emotional states of a human being. The dancer must be able to bring it out, changing it from moment to moment. This moment they are angry, next moment they are loving, next moment compassionate, next moment joyful, next moment miserable. If you can do all this within a span of one or two minutes, genuinely, absolutely involved in it, then you have total mastery over how you want to be within yourself. You have the ability to consciously create whichever emotion you want. Now your inner ambiance is set the way you want it.

Work beyond stress

Understanding the new offering“Work Beyond Stress” by Isha This project got shelved while i worked on it. But my logo concept was one of the shortlisted identity. E-learning platform from Isha aimed at corporates. Exclusive content from Sadhguru about a variety of topicsTools rather than a program – differentiated from Inner EngineeringVery much like IEO (modules, Sadhguru’s talks, guided practices, etc) Offering by Isha rather than Sadhguru – “B2B” if we wish to consider Isha a business Brand rather than a campaign – requiring its own logo and designs.
This was a crucial aspect of the design but because this offering was at a nascent stage we weren't able to justify that it could flourish independently. after almost a week of discussions, a ton of sketches 3 directions were chosen. When the board members/ authorities of Isha finally concluded the meeting my logo received the majority of votes.
my thoughts with this icon were simple: a) this was for corporates but to help them see beyond their current states of functioning.b) this was not essentially a yoga program but modules for self-help and holistic developmentc) usage of Isha brand colours that would be minimal yet recognizable.d) the need to show blossoming/ transformation/ bliss from existing stress, confusion, and the shackles of one's mind.
