For my educational technology timeline, I focused on how recent policies, innovations, and global initiatives have shaped the modern use of technology in schools. I traced key developments that reflect how technology is used to promote equity, student agency, personalized learning, and data-driven instruction.
Rather than covering the entire history of educational tech, my timeline highlighted major moments from the last two decades such as the release of the 2010 National Education Technology Plan, the adoption of ISTE Standards for Students, and the rise of platforms like Google Classroom. These milestones show how schools have shifted toward more personalized, student-centered digital learning environments.
One major takeaway is that educational technology continues to evolve with a strong focus on equity, usability, and student empowerment. This project helped me understand how digital tools are being shaped by both policy and innovation, and how these tools can be used intentionally to improve learning outcomes in today’s classrooms.
