Capitol Section (Local) Honors Orchestra Program
DSOMA helps provide support to teachers and students for participation in the California Music Educators Association-Capitol Section Honors Orchestra Program. The Capitol Section Honors Orchestra Program includes and involves string musicians from all over the area (Yolo, Sacramento, Amador, Placer, and El Dorado Counties) who are selected to gather in a yearly workshop with a high level director. The multi-day event will include rehearsals, workshops, and a culminating performance.

Seventh and Eighth Graders can participate in the Middle School Honors Orchestra, and Ninth Graders can participate in the High School Honors Orchestra.

The 2024 Capitol Section Honors Orchestras will take place in January. There will be a performance Saturday afternoon. Further details, information, and music can be found on the CMEA-Capitol Section Website. Teachers will also send home and email out specific information about the event when it is available.
