This page is for any projects where your normal #2 pencils, colored pencils, crayons, or markers will be the main tool for making each project!

Thank you to "Art Projects for Kids" for the great idea. Their page can be found here: https://artprojectsforkids.org/minecraft-self-portraits/
Materials:
A Pencil
Graph Paper (any size will work!)
Colored Pencils
(Optional Items)- Multicultural colored pencils, ruler.
Steps:
Find the center of your graph paper by counting across the paper to get the number of squares in total, then count to half that number (for example, if you have 20 boxes, count to 10 boxes!). After you get to the middle, draw a line down the whole paper. This line will be the "dividing line" between your eyes and the rest of your body so you create an even self-portrait.
Begin to draw by making the eyes, I went 2 squares from my center line on both sides, and drew a box that was 2 squares tall by 3 squares wide. That way I could use the middle squares to make by pupils! (I also made a line 1 box wider than my eyes because I wear glasses. If you don't wear glasses then don't worry about that!)
Create the mouth by making a box that starts ON the middle line just below the eyes. I drew my box to 1 square by 3 squares, but you can make yours smaller if you'd like.
Draw a "U" shape around the eyes and mouth 1 box away from each, but leave the top open, because that's where the hair is going to go!
Draw your hair line! I made mine look a little like my own hair, but you can make a straight line across, or style it however you like! If you have longer hair, remember that it should be closer to your eyes.
For people with hair down to their shoulders or further- skip to step 7, then come back to step 6 and draw your hair so it looks like it is going behind your shoulders.
Draw the top of your head, connecting the top of the "U" shape you made for the face and using the sides of each square to make it from one side to another.
Create your neck by drawing a line 2 squares away from the center on both sides, and 2 squares down from your chin.
Create your shoulders by drawing our from your neck. I went to the edge of my face, but you can go less or more if you like.
Create your arms by drawing a line from your shoulders down to the bottom of the page, then draw a line 3 squares in from there, but not all the way up to your shoulder.
If you'd like to add detail to your shirt, you can draw a line on your arm up high to make a short sleeve shirt, or down low to make a long sleeve (I made my sleeves rolled up by doing 2 lines!)
Go over ALL of your pencil lines with a black colored pencil. This will outline your form and make it easier to see where you need to color in.
Color everything in! Once this is done, you have completed your Minecraft Me!
Create your own happy snowperson looking at the snow falling using simple tools!
Materials:
Blue Construction Paper
Glue Bottle or Glue Stick
White Crayon
Pencil
Orange Paper Cut to Triangle
Black Paper Cut to Squares
Bowl, Cup, or Circle Tracer
Steps:
Start with the trace overlapping the edge of the paper, and use either a pencil or your white crayon to trace your circle.
Color the circle in completely with the white crayon.
Use the white crayons to make small circles around the rest of the paper for snow.
Cut black paper into smaller squares (I cut mine into 3/4" squares) and orange paper into a triangle.
Put two of the black squares into the white circle you colored to make the snowperson's eyes.
Put the orange trangle into the center under the eyes to make the carrot nose.
If you angle this triangle up, it will look like your snowperson is watching the snow come down.
Using 4-5 black squares, make a smile for the mouth.
Learn how to (safely) turn yourself into a superhero and create a self-portrait (a work of art made by you, with you as the subject!)
Materials:
Paper x2 (You can use any size! I used both 9x12" and 12x18")
Pencil
Colored Pencils
Eraser
Steps:
Start by drawing a full size body on one of your pieces of paper (if you have 2 different sizes, use the smaller paper).
Turn that into a version of your superhero by thinking about 3 things:
What is my Superhero Name?
What is my Superpower?
What will my costume look like?
Design your superhero's costume on this first paper. How will this costume relate to the super power (if your superhero has Sun-Powers, you wouldn't want their costume to be all black light night time).
Head: Move onto the bigger paper, This is where you will draw the self-portrait. With the paper turned vertically (taller than it is wide), start by drawing a large oval shape in the center of the paper. This will be the head for your self-portrait!
Shoulders: Draw a line below this oval horizontally (side to side) for the shoulders, from one side of the paper to the other. For a simpler version of your self-portrait, just draw this line all the way across the paper.
If you'd like more of a challenge, draw this line, but then draw curves down to the bottom of the paper to make the shoulders more realistic.
Eyes: Start with a vertical line straight down the middle of your oval. Draw another line in horizontally across the middle of the oval. On this horizontal line, create two "football/almond" shapes for the eyes. Inside of these shapes, draw a circle that is cut off by the top of the "football" shape (almost a full circle, but the top is cut off). Inside of this circle draw another circle for the pupil and color it in black.
For a simple version of this project, just draw circles for the eyes, before you work on your mask.
Once the eyes are finished, you are ready to make your costume. Since you completed your costume on the other paper, you have the colors and style ready to go! Draw and color in your self-portrait with the costume choices you made, and you will have a finished superhero self-portrait!
