A close partnership with a thriving business community has always been part of the fabric of the Village of Oak Brook. From the beginning, Oak Brook’s founder Paul Butler had a vision to work where he lived. It started with his visionary Oak Brook Polo Club which quickly became internationally known, but this vision extended to his recruitment of global companies to relocate their headquarters to the village. Butler hoped to attract businesses to the area to create a tax base, and in so doing, village operations could be funded without property taxes. That in turn attracted more businesses and soon Oak Brook became a national model for smart community development.
As Village President, Dr. Reddy will reestablish Butler’s revolutionary vision that made Oak Brook the community it is today by developing deeper connections and partnerships with the business community. From global headquarters to Oak Brook Center, the businesses in our village are key partners to our future success.
Dr. Reddy knows that Oak Brook will only be successful in the future if we can attract more business to our community, and that will not happen if village government leaders exclude the business community and limit collaboration. Dr. Reddy will ensure that the businesses of all shapes and sizes, as well as the instrumental Oak Brook Chamber of Commerce, have a seat at the table in Oak Brook village governance. Any organization that’s fundamental goal is to attract new companies to our community and build new business opportunities for existing companies must be an ally and an invaluable partner of our local government leaders.
As an entrepreneur at the intersection of the technology and healthcare space, Dr. Reddy knows what global and national businesses are looking for in the 21st Century economy, and he has deep relationships across the country and world that can be leveraged to promote Oak Brook. Just as Paul Butler convinced international companies to make Oak Brook their home, Dr. Reddy believes that the village can be a destination for international business again. The existing McDonald’s property is a perfect candidate for business development, and one of Dr. Reddy’s first priorities as village president will be to work in partnership with the Oak Brook Chamber of Commerce, as well as regional and state leaders, to recruit Oak Brook’s newest resident, which will help fuel the growth and development of the entire village. Dr. Reddy is ready to get to work as Oak Brook’s chief marketing officer.
