Initial Assessments (Intake Session):
Initial assessments are the first appointment and typically last between 50–60 minutes. This session includes a structured interview that helps me gain a better understanding of who you are, what your goals are, and any relevant background information. It is also an opportunity for you to get to know me, ask questions, and gain a clear understanding of the policies and procedures of my practice.
Individual Psychotherapy:
Individual psychotherapy appointments are typically 50–55 minutes. We will meet one-on-one to focus on your goals. What happens in session depends on your needs and the concerns you’re working through. The approaches I commonly use include client-centered psychotherapy, narrative therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, solution-focused therapy, and gestalt therapy.
Family Therapy:
Family therapy appointments are typically either 50-55 minutes or an extended 75-minute option for families who want additional time for deeper work or more complex conversations. Sessions focus on improving communication, understanding patterns that create tension, and supporting each person's role within the family system. The approaches I use most often include structural family therapy, experiential family therapy, narrative therapy, and solution-focused methods that help families strengthen connection and work toward healthy change.
Assessment Services:
I offer assessments to support insight, clarify concerns, and guide treatment or career planning. These may include:
• Career Counseling Assessments
Support for career exploration, vocational interests, and decision-making using standardized tools and guided discussion.
• Psychosocial Assessments
Evaluation of emotional, social, environmental, and behavioral factors affecting your well-being. Used for treatment planning, referrals, or understanding the broader context of your concerns.
• Strengths-Based or Wellness Assessments
Focused on identifying personal strengths, resilience factors, and areas of growth to support your goals in therapy.
• Progress Monitoring
Brief, evidence-based tools that help track changes in symptoms, identify trends, and guide ongoing treatment planning. These assessments support insight, measure progress over time, and ensure therapy remains aligned with your goals.
Note: Assessment is available within the scope of a doctoral-level Licensed Professional Counselor. I do not provide psychological evaluations, forensic evaluations, court-ordered assessments, or any testing beyond the LPC scope of practice.
Number of Sessions:
Therapy looks different for each person. Some clients work with me for a few months to focus on specific concerns, while others prefer longer-term support. We will discuss your goals together and check in regularly to make sure therapy continues to meet your needs.
Session Format:
Sessions are typically 45–60 minutes and are currently offered via telehealth. We will meet one-on-one to explore concerns, build insight, strengthen coping skills, and work toward your goals. The pace is guided by you, with room to reflect, process, and grow without pressure.
