Networked Control Systems (NCSs)

Networked Control System belongs to a class of sampled-data systems where a shared real-time communication network connects sensor, controller and an actuator. The advantages of using an NCS in terms of reduced wiring, increased configurability, seamless connectivity with data acquisition and monitoring systems etc. over conventional feedback control system. The main challenges in an NCS are network constraints/imperfections such as:

by the underlying network. In addition to degrading performance, these can also result in closed loop system instability.
