Dr. Janet Estrada is a dedicated public servant whose life embodies resilience, hard work, and a deep commitment to community. After losing her mother at just nine years old, she was raised by her single father—an immigrant landscaper who never missed a day of work, became fully biliterate, and proudly earned his U.S. citizenship. Growing up in poverty with her three siblings, Dr. Estrada learned the values of perseverance and service that now guide her leadership.

As Vice President of the Adams 14 School Board, she has helped recover the district’s state accreditation—twice—restoring local control, launched the Community Schools model, and passed a $113.9 million bond to invest in our schools. As a biliterate and bicultural wife and mother of three young boys with a fourth on the way, Dr. Estrada shares the dreams and challenges of the families she serves.
