The AKP research group is lead by Prof. Ajay Kumar, Assistant Professor, Mechanical Engineering at Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Tirupati. Our research interests lie in understanding materials development phenomena governing manufacturing processes and material science problems using practical, theoretical and simulation techniques.

Tribology
We are looking for motivated postdoctoral fellows, PhD students, undergraduate students and project interns having good academic records throughout with some previous project experience in the following research areas:
Mechanical Testing
Micro-structure characterization using using Optical/SEM/EDS/TEM/EBSD Techniques
Acquainted with different Metal Casting techniques and workshop equipment
Experience in interfacing instruments for data acquisition and control through LABVIEW, etc
Mechanical engineering design (AUTOCAD, SolidWorks, ANSYS, MAGMA, Solid Cast)
Programming skills in LabView, Python, Mathematica, Matlab
Design of experiments
PhD candidates should have B.E./BTech/MTech, valid GATE score or similar independent fellowships. Applications can be considered through institute advertisement, generally March and October every year. Interested candidates are encouraged to contact me for project details. Candidates with experience in any of the above areas are preferred.
