The Dragoo Family Association Library is a treasured collection of family history gathered and preserved by generations of dedicated DFA members. Its books, photographs, documents, and genealogical records represent decades of research and the shared stories of our extended family.
Our library is more than a collection of historical records. It is a shared family inheritance, entrusted to the DFA's care.
The DFA maintains ten family-line libraries, each dedicated to preserving the history of a particular branch of the Dragoo family.
Together, these collections include:
Family Heritage Albums — Family group sheets, ancestral charts, birth and marriage records, and generations of family research.
Historical Photographs and Documents — Ancestral photographs, family correspondence, cemetery records, and historical documents.
Books and Published Family Histories — Published works, rare books, and research documenting the Dragoo family and its related lines.
Newsletters and Reunion Archives — Decades of Dragoo Family News, reunion materials, and Association history.
Digital Genealogical Collections — An extensive family database and shared Ancestry family tree that help connect generations of Dragoo descendants.
Our volunteer Line Librarians help descendants identify their Dragoo family line, trace ancestral connections, locate family records, and build upon generations of genealogical research. Each librarian specializes in a particular family line. Whether you are just beginning to explore your Dragoo ancestry or have been researching for years, our librarians can help you discover connections within the larger family.
Line Librarians also help connect descendants researching common ancestors, encourage the exchange of family photographs, documents, and stories, and assist in adding new discoveries to the DFA's growing genealogical collections.
The DFA welcomes research inquiries from members and nonmembers alike, encouraging cooperation and the sharing of family history.
Line 1 Librarian Darlene LeCureux welcomes members in the Library Room at the 2026 Reunion in Sacramento, California.
The DFA is committed to preserving its collections through established, professionally recognized archival practices.
Under the direction of the Library Director, our preservation program includes detailed collection inventories, documented custody of original materials, professional archival-quality scanning, organized digital archives, and multiple backup copies to protect against loss or damage.
Fragile and irreplaceable materials receive special care, with digital copies used whenever possible to protect the originals while keeping their information available for research.
This ongoing work ensures that the family records entrusted to the DFA remain protected, organized, and available to future generations.
The DFA Family History Library comes together at our biennial family reunions, where members can browse the library's books, family history albums, and research collections.
Line Librarians are available to answer genealogical questions, assist with research, and help members add new family information to the DFA's digital genealogy database. A copier and scanner are also available for family members who wish to make personal copies of library materials.
Between reunions, members can contact their Line Librarians for research assistance and access to available family records.
Our library continues to grow through the generosity of family members who share photographs, documents, genealogical research, and family stories.
