“The classroom remains the most radical space of possibility in the academy”

Communication Policy

I enjoy hearing from you. No question or concern is too small, and there's no such thing as a "stupid question."

Attendance Policy

Attending an online course is achieved by participating in the course, contributing to discussions, asking questions, proposing answers, submitting assignments, and collaborating with your peers. You'll have many opportunities to participate in the coming weeks. As a general rule, you should set aside time to check in weekly and allow time for reading and completing the weekly assignments.

Campus Code of Conduct

The classroom environment, whether on campus or online, should be of mutual respect and learning. It's best to adhere to a professional code of conduct when posting and participating in discussions and the chatroom.

Online Etiquette

Online etiquette, often referred to as "netiquette," guides how we interact with one another in the online environment. These practices and rules ensure that everyone feels respected, seen and heard. If you ever feel that someone is not following these rules, please send me an email using the Canvas Inbox and describe your concerns. Here's a gentle reminder of how netiquette works.

Thanks for being here...

I believe learning is a lifelong process. In an educational setting, that process should be student-centered, equity-minded, culturally responsive and inclusive from course design to curriculum to support services. It should also be a safe space for sharing your knowledge, experience, and voice. In my class, your culture, background and voice matters and as your instructor, I am committed to providing you with the support you need to reach your personal, educational, and professional goals.

During this course, we'll use our our textbook along with other online content and resources to explore property ownership rights, contract law, ethics, civil rights and fair housing laws, and other important topics and the ways in which these areas impact our daily lives. We'll share our knowledge, valuable experiences, and even out tried and true studying tips, test taking techniques, and other information to help one another succeed in our online community.

I enjoy teaching, sharing information and exchanging ideas. Each semester is different for me and and equally exciting because I get to engage with and learn from my students. Whether you are curious about real estate, working towards your degree or certificate, or already a licensed real estate professional with real world experience, I'm happy your taking this course and I'm looking forward to spending the semester with you.
