How does this course work?

This is a 16-week course and follows a weekly schedule. Each week you'll have a series of activities and assignments, including reading assignments, discussion questions that allow you to interact with your classmates, and quizzes. The weekly schedule is designed to allow us to learn from one another as we work towards achieving our learning goals.

  • The course is designed to take about 3 hours per week. You will work at your own pace; however, there are scheduled due dates within each unit you will be expected to meet.
  • The course has 15 modules. Each module opens officially on Monday at 9:00 AM, although I strive to open it early. There are 12 quizzes, 12 discussion questions, three exams covering 5 chapters each, and a class project.
  • I suggest you schedule 1 hour each Monday to log in, review the module and assignments, take note of due dates, and plan your week. Plan to log in to the course several times each week--we have due dates for discussions, chapter quizzes, exams, and the class project.
  • Each of your assignments will receive feedback, which opens another opportunity for revision, learning, and growth. Working within our weekly schedule allows both you and me to plan our time. For more info, please see the Grading page.
  • Your participation is an important part of the success of this course, but I also know that you have other courses, family and friends, and you may even have a job. And because we're human, sometimes we're just swamped or under the weather. If you've reached a point where you can't meet a deadline, please contact me and we'll work together through your challenge. For more info, please see the Policies page.
