SURGERY UNDER GENERAL ANESTHESIA
If you have been scheduled for a surgery under General Anesthesia you will receive a call from CKHA Pre Surgical Screening team to advise you on what time to arrive at the hospital and further instructions as to when to stop eating & drinking.
You will could also have a pre-operative assessment with internal medicine.
Please follow their guidelines- usually you must arrive at least 1. 5 hours prior to a surgery with sedation.
PROCEDURE UNDER LOCAL ANESTHESIA
Arrive to front main doors of CKHA to register 1 hour prior to your scheduled procedure.
(Cystoscopy, Vasectomy & Circumcisions, usually done under local freezing, unless sedation was discussed with surgeon)
Register with VALID health card.
There is no preparation required for procedures done via local anesthetic.
