The Gambian Connection, a non-profit organization that connects Gambians in Europe and The Gambia, is planning to expand its operations to Sierra Leone in 2021. The organization will be rebranded as the Leonian Connection and will focus on building a massive network of teamwork and support in Sierra Leone.
The Gambian Connection has been operating in The Gambia for over 10 years and has a proven track record of success. The organization has helped to connect Gambians in Europe with their families and friends in The Gambia, and it has also helped to create opportunities for Gambians in both countries.
The Leonian Connection will use the same successful model in Sierra Leone. The organization will provide a platform for Sierra Leoneans to share their stories and experiences, organize events and conferences that bring Sierra Leoneans together, offer scholarships and grants to Sierra Leoneans who want to further their education, work with businesses and organizations to create opportunities for Sierra Leoneans, and advocate for the rights of Sierra Leoneans in Europe and Sierra Leone.
The Leonian Connection is still in the planning stages, but it is committed to making a positive impact on Sierra Leone. The organization believes that by connecting Sierra Leoneans, it can help to build a stronger and more prosperous country.
Here are some of the specific ways the Leonian Connection will connect Sierra Leoneans:
Provide a platform for Sierra Leonean athletes to connect with coaches and clubs in Europe.
Help Sierra Leonean artists to get their music heard in Europe.
Work with schools in Sierra Leone to provide educational materials and training for teachers.
Organize music festivals and conferences that bring together Sierra Leonean and European musicians.
Work with banks and money transfer companies to reduce the cost of sending money between Sierra Leone and Europe.
Help Sierra Leoneans to find jobs in Europe.
The Leonian Connection is always looking for new ways to connect Sierra Leoneans. If you have an idea for how the organization can improve its services, please let us know.
We believe that by connecting Sierra Leoneans, we can build a brighter future for our country.
Updates on the project:
As of February 2023, the Leonian Connection project is still in the planning stages. The organization is waiting for the COVID-19 pandemic to subside before it can start implementing its plans.
The organization is also looking for funding to support its operations in Sierra Leone. If you would like to donate to the Leonian Connection, please visit their website.
